Is the Mafell push pull saw any good?

This is a superb piece of kit and the pull-push saw action offers great potential . When cross cutting, the work remains stationary supported against the MFA fence. The blade is pulled forwards and through the work. In many ways it takes over many functions of a crosscut mitre saw.

You can pull the blade towards your material for the most efficient mitered cross cuts, and push your material towards the blade for the most efficient rip cuts .

What's better, Mafell or Festool?

The FT rails have more grip on the bottom and the saws glide on them better. The Mafell's antisplinter is FAR better and the dual slots on the bottom allow for clamping thin material right on edge for safer cutting. With the TSO guide rail connectors, it is not a big deal to connect Festool rails.

The sensor-controlled working light provides the best view of the cut. The partially transparent protective hood completely covers the saw blade and thus provides for greater safety.
