Cancellation Policy
Greyhound Bus travel cancellation policy:
- If you purchased an Economy ticket, it is non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
- Economy extra tickets can be exchanged to another date and time. This must be done before the original travel date and time. A $20 fee applies.
- If you purchase a flexible ticket, then you can cancel the ticket anytime before the departure time and obtain a full refund. There is no fee for changes to Flexible tickets.
- In the case of not showing up for your trip or cancelling after the departure time, no refund will be provided no matter what type of ticket you have.
- Partial refunds are not provided. If you've used any part of your ticket, you cannot get a refund for the unused parts.
- If your trip is cancelled or delayed by Greyhound, you may request a refund or to be re-accommodated onto the next available bus.
- If cancelling a flexible fare, the refund will be credited to the original form of payment within 7-10 days.
- If your bus is cancelled due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circ*mstances, you should contact Greyhound directly for any available remedies. They do not guarantee arrival or departures times due to unpredictable circ*mstances.

Greyhound Luggage Policy
- Each paid passenger is allowed to bring one checked piece of luggage. This must not exceed 62 inches when adding the total exterior dimensions and should not be heavier than 50lbs (22 kg).
- Up to three additional pieces of luggage can be checked for a charge of $20 each, $35 each for extra overweight between 51lbs and 75lbs, and $40 each for extra oversize luggage (63 inches to 75 inches).
- Greyhound may refuse luggage apparent weight or size that is over the limit.
- Two small bags can be brought onboard as carry-on luggage. Each must not exceed 25 lbs (11 kg) and should fit in the overhead compartment or beneath your seat.
- Urgent or valuable items such as money, medication, electronic devices, documents should be carried in your personal item.
Extra Taxes on Luggage
- No extra taxes are applied to luggage as they are included in the initial fare. However, extra charges are required for additional or overweight luggage as mentioned above.
Allowed and Prohibited Items Inside Greyhound
- Allowed: Personal items such as a purse or small backpack, food and drink in closed containers, portable electronic devices, etc.
- Prohibited: Hazardous materials, alcohol, drugs, weapons, and oversized items that do not fit under your seat or in the overhead bins.
- Specific items such as skis, fishing equipment, and non-folding wheelchairs can be checked but may be subject to additional charges.
- The company has the right not to accept items that are not securely packed in a suitable container.
- For air travel purchases, federal law prohibits transporting any items in your checked or carry-on luggage that are perceived as dangerous. This includes a gun, ammunition, firearm parts, fireworks, explosive substances, etc.

- Only service animals are allowed on Greyhound buses.
- A service animal is defined as any animal that is individually trained or able to provide assistance to a person with a disability; or any animal that assists persons with disabilities by providing emotional support.
- Documentation may be required of passengers needing to travel with an emotional support or psychiatric service animal.
- Service animals must be on a leash or in a carrier, be under control of the passenger, and not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
- Service animals must be housebroken.
- If the service animal’s behavior poses a direct threat to the health or safety of other customers or staff, Greyhound has the right to refuse acceptance.
Types of Pets Allowed
- Service animals such as dogs, cats and miniature horses which are trained to perform tasks for individuals with disabilities.
- Emotional support animals if individuals have necessary documentation.
Types of Pets Not Allowed
- Any pets other than the service or emotional support animals are not allowed; this includes non-service dogs, non-service cats, reptiles, birds, and rodents.
- Any service animal that is not under control of the passenger, not housebroken or poses a direct threat to health and safety of others.

Advance Ticket Purchase
If you buy your ticket with seven or more days in advance, you can save big on your trip.
The discount is up to 50% on fares.
Note the this is not available for holiday periods and cannot combine other discounts.
Family & Friends Discounts for Bus Tickets
Buying one adult ticket, with more two buddies or family members makes you save up to 50%.
However, it has to be at least with three days in advance from departure date.
Children Free Tickets and Discounts
Every child under 12 (twelve) years old, traveling with an adult, are eligible to get a special discount.
If the child is under 2 (two) years old, it is a free traveling while accompanied by someone with at least the age of fifteen.
If the child is between 2 (two) to 11 (eleven) years old, it gets a 25% ticket discount.
Be aware that all reductions estimates are basing on full adult fare rates.
Student Discounts
All students on vacations, back home or back to school have a 20% discount on all available nationwide trips.
Just have to be using the Student Advantage Discount Card.
Military Discounts
All active and retired military, including dependent family members, are eligible to get a 10% discount on all nation bus routes.
If ticket price exceeds the amount of US$ 259,00 for a round trip, this is the highest fare you will pay.

Senior Discounts
All passengers at the age of 62 years old or more are eligible to get a 5% discount on all available Greyhound bus trips.
Greyhound Road Rewards Program Info
When you join this program, you can get points for every time booking bus on Greyhound.
Just adding the program, you already get 10% off to use on your first bus trip.
You can get a discount even if you book the bus on the same day.
Depending on the bus destination or if i i's a round trip, you already start making 2 (two) points.
If the ticket is flexible fare, your acquisition jumps to 6 (six) points.

Ticket Refund and Exchanges
Be aware that not every bus ticket is refundable.
It is related to the bus ticket type, refundable or non-refundable.
Refundable bus tickets, can be refundable as it says and be exchange without extra fees.
If you chose non-refundable bus tickets, forget about any refund.
You still can change it for another bus ticket spending US$ 20,00.

Trip Tips
Boarding on Bus
All boarding procedure takes about 15 to 30 minutes before departure.
Please be aware and arrive at the terminal gate at least an hour before departure.
So you can take care of ticketing confirmation and baggage dispatch.
Traveling to Mexico and Canada
Have with you a valid U.S. passport.
Photo identification is required to get inside Canada or Mexico by bus.
Travelers will not get into the United States coming from Canada or Mexico, if without proper documents.
