A current CRMLS account via JTGAR allows agents to subscribe to Supra key service. Supra's Wireless Information Network provides agents with a safe and reliable means for accessing and showing properties, and it provides agents with timely information about their listings. The Supra key issued by JTGAR uses the CRMLS access code, and can access lockboxes anywhere CRMLS shares data.
For information about lost or damaged keys, transferring your keys and keyboxes to/from another Association, discontinuing service, please contact the JTGAR office. All other inquiries should be directed to Supra:
The eKey software allows your smartphone to access Supra's keyboxes using bluetooth technology. eKEY service is billed monthly instead of annually, like the ActiveKEY service. To subscribe to eKey service, you will require a Supra-compatible smartphone.
JTGAR uses the Supra Bluetooth Low-Energy lockbox, and they are available for purchase at the JTGAR office. The default hours during which keys may be obtained from the keybox are between 8:30 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. during DST and from 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. standard time. If you would like to change these hours on your iBox, or or if you need to activate the Call Before Showing (CBS) code, please contact the association or ask during its primary programming.
Supra offers a way for agents to manage their key online through the SupraWEB portal. In the portal, you can get your showing activity, manage all of your lockboxes, pay your bill and more. For more information on how to access the SupraWEB portal, here are a few quick links to help.
A Supra eKey, is a blue/gray box, placed somewhere at a property, which contains a key to the home. Typically, this is located on the front door, side entry, railing, or anywhere it can be locked securely near the home.
Essentially, a Supra lockbox is a small device attached to a door handle or other fixed object that stores a key for a particular property. To access the key, you must enter a unique code, which is typically provided by the listing agent or owner.
1. Contact the listing agent's board, which will register you with a Supra eKEY and issue a 4-digit PIN and authorization code. 2. Download the eKEY app.
The Supra C500 KeySafe™ is kept locked with a combination code.Only someone entrusted with the code is able to retrieve the keys. Instead of handing out several keys to different people, you can keep just one set in a key safe.
Cons of using Supra lock boxes: Due to their complexity, it is possible that the listing agent will not program them correctly. They might be placed on the “do not disturb” mode by accident, and the inspector will not be able to gain access to the house. Supra lock boxes are expensive (around $150).
Lock boxes allow real estate agents that you don't know and their customers to enter your house. Keep in mind they are walking through every room, open closets, testing utilities, etc.
The fraud primarily occurs in the form of check counterfeiting, because the checks that are in the lockboxes provide all the information needed to make duplicates.
